The United States officially opened its very controversial embassy in Jerusalem on Monday, in a ceremony that included a video of US President Donald Trump.
The US ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, also spoke at the Jerusalem ceremony and Trump received a standing ovation when he was mentioned.
Friedman referred to the location of the embassy as "Jerusalem, Israel," drawing much applause.
US Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan led the Washington delegation at the inauguration, which also included Ivanka, Trump's daughter, and her husband, Jared Kushner, both White House advisers, as well as Treasury Secretary, Steven Mnuchin.
The status of Jerusalem is, perhaps, the most thorny problem of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Israel considers the entire city its capital, while the Palestinians see East Jerusalem as the capital of their future State.
