As I looked up stats to see if there were any possible ties to the current opiod epidemic and the 'War on terror', I found it almost too easy to find already structured information. The following is a link to a CDC report of "Increase in Drug and Opiod Overdose Deaths in the United States between 2000-2014". To me it seems fishy they have already studied this rise but only recently has this been a hot issue. It also seems a little too coincidental that just before 'War on Terror' and ensuing Afghanistan invasion the Taliban had outlawed the growing of poppy or opium.

What am I implying? The rise of opiates and its use in the pharmaceutical or legal drug market and illegal drug market is the result of the US military having control over the biggest supply of this source. Just as in the 1980's the 'War on Drugs' saw the authorities clamping down on street level users and dealers it has been implied that the main importer of these drugs were in fact the CIA. He

Do I have solid proof of any ties ? Can I say definitively that the United States government or branches thereof have their hands in the distribution of the very drugs that plague our street? No. My cynical side believes that if they are in control of the largest source of these dangerous drugs then it wouldn't be such a scourge in our civilization, if they indeed were intent on stopping the scourge in the first place. Here is an article that brings up other ties of the rise of drugs during war.
Denver Post Article
Is this a good post for information? I am not sure. I have linked a few articles that deal with either the current 'epidemic' or some of the past. Apparently our past has been that of war and drug use. From the Civil War and rampant abuse of the then new drug morphine intended for injured soldiers in the battlefield or the destruction left by cocaine and crack during the 'War on Drugs'; it seems our branches of government have direct involvement.
I would love to know why? I demand the stop of the obvious manipulation of both our society and the services of military who are supposed to be our line of defense in this world. Why is it that civilians are prosecuted to the fullest extent of drug laws here at home yet our armed forces allow the growth of a dangerous drug abroad?
At the very least I beg for a discussion. I am open to any comment. Thank you for reading.
See ,if you look at the drug war at a purely economical point of view, the role of the government is to protect the drug cartel. That's literally true.
