Aceh tsunami on December 26, 2004 became the biggest disaster in the 21st century. The tremendous awakening of the tsunami waves that claimed hundreds of thousands of casualties was even still to be witnessed until now .
One proof of the awesomeness is the transfer of the dome of the mosque weighs 80 tons in the village of Gurah, Peukan Bada, Aceh Besar. The dome now known as Al-Tsunami Mosque was once the dome of the Jamik mosque in Lamteungoh Village, Peukan Bada, Aceh Besar .
When the tsunami waves hit Aceh in 2004, the entire mosque building was damaged and leaving only the dome of the mosque with a diameter of 4 × 4 meters. The dome was swept along a stream of 2.5 kilometers and stranded in Gurah Village
This mosque dome is beyond human reason. The 80-ton dome was swayed by the tsunami waves through the settlements. This incident later gave birth to a story that mentions a dome raised by one of the great scholars of Aceh with three of his disciples to move the position .
The dome was also called a rescue boat. Many people fled to the top of the dome as the tsunami struck. Early domes were discovered, residents also found several holy Qur'an books that had been submerged by tsunami waves at the dome site. today the crumbling Alquran is united in a glass container.
