The first generation iPad came out in 2010. Bitcoin predates the iPad, hatching in 2009, along with Angry Birds. By the time folks were Candy Crushing, bitcoin had already turned three. Bitcoin quietly grew while attentions flickered across Temple Run, Fruit Ninja and Vine. How many apps and trends enjoyed their moment in the spotlight while bitcoin plodded along?
I remember bitcoin being talked about a long time ago. And I remember the moment when it returned to the table. I was really surprised and happy. It was like discovering a flower that had bloomed through desert soil. Through great challenge, a bloom rose above a crack on the ground. All you can do is say, "well well well, loookie at that!!"
It's a nice feeling to notice something remarkable. And it's an odd feeling noticing something before the masses think it's worth noticing.
Fortunately, my mind wasn't distracted. But my friends think I'm a bit overadventurous, naive or mad.
I think it's crazier to not notice amazing when it's sitting in front of you.
