The Netflix adaptation of the "Remembrance of Earth's Past" book series by Liu Cixin is on its way. Just like Game of Thrones this show is also named after the first book in the series "The Three Body Problem". There is also a Chaises show adaptation of these books which I heard isn't all that bad other than some strange censoring so Netflix has some competition, though not a serious one in my opinion.
This is just a teaser trailer, but it looks pretty good. I just have one big problem, Netflix choose the showrunners of Game of Thrones for this show. They even have Sam and the High Septon from that show in this show, even though there are hardly any white people in the books. But, then again David Benioff, and D. B. Weiss did do a good job as long as they have the book to follow, once the book material ended, then the show deteriorated, so maybe there is hope. Plus they have another showrunner with them, Alexander Woo so maybe he will balance them out.
The show itself seems to follow the book pretty closely. In the 1960s Ye Wenjie who is an astrophysicist experiences the devastating consequences of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Her terrible losses and struggles will affect all of humanity for the rest of time. Other than the casting, this looks like a pretty accurate adaptation.
I wonder if people are really interested in a hardcore sci-fi series. There is so much physics in these books that I can barely keep up, but it is interesting.
Have you read the book? Are you excited for this show?
