During the D23 expo Disney released the Secret Invasion trailer. I have to say that it looks pretty epic.
In Captain Marvel the Skrulls seemed like the good guys, but for us comic book readers, we know that that is not always been the case. We know that they tried to infiltrate Earth. The MCU found a clever to bring that story to life, factions. Good Skrulls who help Nick Fury and the humans and the bad once who are "puritans" and want to take over. It almost looks like their main plan is to impersonate Nick Fury himself to get to places.
Samuel L. Jackson is back as Nick Fury, and Cobie Smulders and Ben Mendelsohn are back as Maria Hill and Talos. Even Martin Freeman and Don Cheadle will show up as Everett K. Ross and James "Rhodey" Rhodes making the show seem bigger and more cinematic. Which, let's face it, this should have been an Avengers movie, not a show. I feel like it is slightly wasted on the small screen, even though there is more time to develop the story.
The show has some interesting new comers such as Olivia Colman (forever the Queen from The Crown), Emilia Clarke (forever Daenerys Targaryen from A Game of Thrones), Kingsley Ben-Adir Christopher, McDonald and many more. This show is shaping up to be one of the better Marvel Disney+ shows.
What do you think? Are you excited for this show? Or do you think that this should have been a movie?
