In case you didn't know, the Grisha-Verse is coming to Netflix. From what I understand the show will be based only on the mainly books of the Grisha Trilogy and Six of Crows duology written by Leigh Bardugo. I love these books. It's been a while since I read them, but I am ready to see them on adapted on TV. The books are unusual in the fantasy genre because they are based on Tsar Period in Russia and not medieval Europe. So that already sets it apart.
I am surprised that the teaser is something that only book readers can understand. It's been a while since I read them, but I remember the white stag well enough. But I don't think it means anything for not book readers. Basically this teaser only teases the book readers.
I wasn't thrilled with the casting announcements for the show. Russia is a pretty diverse country because of its sheer size, but I still find it odd that Jessie Mei Li will play Alina. One of the most typical East European names out there. Ben Barnes feels too young to play General Kirigan. But I hope that the show will surprise me in a positive way.
I will watch it no matter what. Are you interested in it?
