At last, the guessing is over. WandaVision will come out on January 15, making 2020 officially the first year since 2008 with no Marvel content. As if we needed any more reasons to hate 2020. But it's just 15 days into 2021 so we'll forgive them. In fact it's just two months away. So now we have great new Marvel content to look forward to that will definitely not be delayed.
Marvel announced their release date with this super cute teaser:
In order to ease our pain of waiting and get the hype train going Marvel is also dripping information about the show. We know that it is an homage to sitcoms. In fact, some parts of the show will filmed like a sitcom with a live audience and all. I wonder if this will be as successful in the awards arena as the Watchman TV show. It could be. We got a slew of pictures which mostly from an episode that is an homage to the The Dick Van Dyke Show or images that we have seen in the trailer. It looks really sitcomy and interesting. Nothing that gives any new information about the plot.

Which can only mean one thing. Wiccan and Speed are coming to the MCU. Officially. It doesn't matter how they go about it, we know that these characters who are Wanda's children in the comics will become a reality and part of the Young Avengers. The Young Avengers are rumored to get their own Disney+ show. This is going to be fantastic. Although the plot of Wiccan and Speed might be more comic book accurate than we thought as there are rumors that Mephisto will be on the show. Still, this is a great opening to Phase 4, setting up so many cool things.
The show will set up Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. We are told that Wanda will have a key role in that movie, so it will be interesting to see how big her role will be. Probably her messing with reality in this show creates problems. Like messing with time created problems in Avengers: Endgame. The ramifications of this show will probably be felt through most of phase 4.
I super excited for the show. I need some serious MCU content in my life and I need it now. How excited are you?
