There are expensive nights out and then there are really expensive nights out.
For one college student, an Uber ride last Friday fit into the category of "really expensive".
For Kenny Bachman, a night of partying led to an Uber fare of over $1,600. Partying with his friends at WVU in Morgantown, Bachman used Uber to get home. He thought he has fared to go to a nearby friend's house. Instead, it turns hout the New jersey native entered his home address.
Bachman passed out in the back seat and when he awoke, the driver told him they were on their way to New Jersey.
"I just woke up," Bachman told NJ Advance Media in a phone interview.
"And I'm thinking, 'Why the f--- am I in the car next to some random ass dude I don't even know?"
The total fare was $1,635.93.
Bachman contested the charges although he did compensate the driver for the tolls he ran since the driver did not have money.
According to Uber, the matter was settled when Bachman agreed to pay the fare.
This is a painful reminder that drinking and Uber can be dangerous.
