Visiting Uganda – Day 9 -10 – Prayer Montain
Uganda, 2018/03/03, Kijungu + Jinja
In the morning we went by bus to Jinja, a city in the near to the Victoria Lake.
In a market hall we got some fruit, which are very tasty. We can get them in germany too, but then they are shipped and cooled and one cannot compare the taste of a pinable that you eat in Germany and here.
When I came to an internet cafee, I went in and asked for the leader. I showed him my Steemit-paper (see also bring it to the critical mass), but he shook his head and said: "I don't like it." I didn't argued with him and went on. Maybe I should have said, that he can proof my arguments on wikipedia, but these thoughts came too late.
While we waited at the bus for the others from our group, I spoke to some people, which wanted to sell me some souveniers. I asked them if they have access to internet and they agreed. I told them about steemit and gave my piece of paper. They were eager to know more. When my group and I sat in our bus, i could see, that the souvenier-sellers have organized a notebook and opened it. I felt good and confirmed in what I do.
We went on to a place at Victoria Lake where we could have some lunch and could do a sight seeing by boat:
We went to the origin of the white Nile. One can see some whirling in the water. A third part of the Nile comes out from the ground, two third part come from the Victoria Lake.
The weather got bad, we had to turn around.
Some cormorans:
The question is: "What has happened to number one?":
The hill on the left is the Prayer Mountain, our actual goal of the journey, watch for the forrest on the top of it:
The next picture is the other way around. We are on the top of the hill and watch down to Victory Lake:
Prayer mountain is also owned by Vision for Africa. It was bought by Maria Prean obout 15 years ago. This mountain was dry and without forrest. All the rain showers had touched this hill very rarely. There was a wichcraft-spell on this hill. It is said, that people get ill or die, if they climb on that hill.
After Maria had bought this land, she and others prayed a whole day to cast the devil away from this place. After they finished she said: "And as a proof, that this hill belongs to Jesus now, it shall rain in the next days." At the same day, a big thounderstorm reached the dried out land.
After that they planted a forrest there. (The neighbour hill is still without forrest).
In Prayer Mountain there are a lot of training schools:
Hair dressing, tailoring, carpentering, metal workshop, building department,...
And childrenschool (watch the forrest at the right):
The children were very happy to see us (Yes, we are their sponsors, but children are allways happy to see "Muzungus") and they sang and danced and clapped their hands:
Here is a picture from inside of the school:
And outside:
This is the cross and one of 17 prayer huts:
The following picture is not edited, it is a trick of the perspective:
Here is another monster animal:
