”Know thy enemy”
We’ve all heard this phrase in one form or another and it doesn’t take a genius to understand how important this rule is for anyone in conflict. Now don’t worry, this isn’t the part where I try to make myself sound all clever by analysing this ancient saying in an effort to discover its hidden meaning as that would be pointless for two very good reasons. 1st, I’m thick as fuck. And 2nd, this saying needs no analysis, it is what it is. You just apply it to any form of conflict, consider the phrase for a moment and, hey presto!, it’s as useful as having an umbrella in the rain.
It was this phrase which came to mind while watching a recent interview between Freddie Sayer and the Russian Foreign Minister (his name escapes me but it isn’t important). During the interview, Freddie raised the question of how Russia would react if Sweden and Finland joined NATO, a question to which the Russian Minister became visibly frustrated. The usual bluster followed, with the Russian minister stating that “anyone who threatens a nuclear power must understand the possible consequences of doing so”. So from this we can assume that Russia take the alliance of NATO and its Scandinavian neighbours as a direct threat to their security.
Now I’m no military expert nor am I a geopolitical know-it-all, but what I do know for damn sure is that each side plan far far ahead of what we see on our TV screens. Russia knew that “The West” would sanction the Russians and their economy and therefore took measures to counter it. Furthermore, maybe Putin considered that Nato would exploit the war in a bid to expand their empire, but did Russia believe that their advanced military weapons affords them the security that it would deter “The West” from declaring an all out war with Russian, maybe?
But then, likewise, how many steps ahead were “The West” thinking? I can imagine that they played out the scenarios and knew that with the right propaganda campaign they could coerce Finland into joining NATO (Not that the Finnish government need much encouragement due to their long-standing hatred of Russia). And let’s consider that maybe NATO have taken a gamble with the possible consequences of encouraging Finland and Sweden to join them. I mean on one hand Russia might not follow through with their threat of nuclear action and NATO gain a strategic military position on the Russian boarder. And on the other hand Russia might just follow through with their threat, but NATO will still have a strategic military position on the Russian boarder. And besides, for all we know, the US military could well have developed their own hypersonic weapons on the down-low and be lulling Putin into a false sense of security?
None of this I am sure of, but like I said earlier, what I’m sure of is that each side is thinking 4 or 5 moves ahead of what’s happening right now. And this got me thinking about the possibility of the Ukrain being used as a pawn to bait Russia into showing their hand. From many accounts it’s been claimed that the weapons being supplied to the Ukrainians are old and outdated. This off-loading of weapons that could be considered as passed their sell-by dates has been taken as a shrewd move by the military complex to use Ukrain as a way of getting around all the complications there must be when disposing of military equipment. And let’s not forget all this “charity” in the way weapons doesn’t come for free. The Ukrain are in debt to all those who have supplied billions of £’s worth of weapons to them, even if those weapons are reported to be malfunctioning. I guess that old saying about not being able to sell old rope doesn’t count in this case…
Besides the possibility that NATO are getting rid of their old military stock to the Ukrain for a profit, there is also another angle which needs to be considered here. What if the war in Ukrain is a faint by the west? And what I mean by this boxing analogy is that what if NATO are using this war in Ukrain to see how Russia handle themselves on the modern day battle field? It makes a lot more sense to get rid of your old weapons if they offer the chance to expose the tactics, numbers, and weaponry of your enemy. It would make a lot of sense, militarily to employ such a tactic and I’ve no doubt that the powers that be wouldn’t lose a nights sleep over such a decision. In fact, it’s been openly discussed that US intelligence would gain invaluable knowledge about the Russians during this campaign.
Know thy enemy
Put it this way, if this were a computer game and there were no real harm to anyone then this would be a great tactic and one well worth employing, don’t you think? Only problem is, and this is my personal viewpoint, that those who make these decisions live in a world that is quite surreal and very removed from that of our own. These “leaders” see the world from a far and think of time on a scale we don’t. They think of legacy and monuments. They think of history books and how they will be written, and more importantly who they will be written by. So please don’t be naive when considering whether or not individuals at the top of the tower would allow such terrible deeds to happen for selfish reasons. Need we be reminded of events, such as JFK, 911, MLK, The Gulf of Tonkin, WMD’s, and least of all the most recent Covid shamdemic? The powers that be are well versed in these kinds of shenanigan.
So, have NATO encouraged this war between Russia and Ukrain, knowing that they can use it to obtain new member states and therefore gain a stronger position for a larger campaign? Would you put it past them to do this? I know I wouldn’t and the past history of the, so called, “West” has shown without a doubt that they are willing to wage war against other countries without reason and for motives that are disguised in humanitarian endeavours. And then there is the fact that those in control think quite differently to how we do and on a much grander scale. “The greater good”. “The new world order”. “A one world government”. These are their words not mine and we are all pawns on their geopolitical chess board. So let’s think smart before we choose to support any government partaking in a war which sees its people slaughtered for the whims of the rich and powerful. I neither support Putin or Zelensky. To my mind they are all part of the problem and they have both used propaganda in order to have their citizens voluntarily slaughter one another.
To my mind we should all be supporting an action to devolve every government on the planet as they are all most certainly corrupt. Yes there should be a great reset, but not the kind that they have in mind.
Anyway, I’ll get back to my life of work and paying my taxes that support these mongrels for now. In the meantime I will try my best to spend time with those I love and try to be a positive as I can in these challenging times. And in that vain I will end this post with some wartime humour that while it may be a little dark it should also poke fun at those who choose to sacrifice our freedom for theirs.
Good day to you all and try to be happy with what you have.
