I sit in the USA with all the privileges that I take for granted on a constant basis, while another sovereign country is invaded by a superpower that considers itself a world leader in the international community. It pains me that I am even concerned to say that I am American, as our record for invading countries is longer than anyone else's, but usually there was already a hostile force oppressing the people there. That being said, I still wish there was more I could do. I cannot afford to donate money to be used for medical supplies or food for the innocent civilians. But I am willing to go to Ukraine. To risk my own life to protect theirs. Am I that uncomfortable here in America that I would want to go there? Or am I trying to make up for what my own country has done to others so similarly. Either way, I wish I could do more to help and I am sure I am not alone in thinking this. Godspeed to Ukraine. You are not alone in this fight.
