Der Krieg in der Ukraine hat begonnen, die Volksrepubliken Donezk und Luhansk haben Russland offiziell um Hilfe gebeten, die russische Bevölkerung in der Ukraine von Zitat "ultra-nationalistischen, russlandfeindlichen Faschisten" zu schützen, die von der USA finanziert und von der NATO unterstützt werden. Die Ukraine sei de facto bereits der NATO beigetreten bzw. am Weg dorthin, sagt Putin.
In einer einstündigen Rede hat der russische Präsident die Hintergründe des Kriegs aus seiner Sicht dargelegt und auch von der akuten Gefahr von Atom- und Massenvernichtungswaffen in der Ukraine gesprochen. Eine Anspielung auf den Vorwand, den die USA 2003 genutzt haben, um den Irak anzugreifen und einzumarschieren. Russland fühle sich von der "vertragsbrüchigen" NATO-Osterweiterung bis an seine Landesgrenze bedroht.
Ganz unrecht hat er damit sicher nicht, die Wahrheit liegt wie so oft irgendwo in der Mitte.
Die Frage ist, wie weit Putin gehen wird, denke nicht, dass er die Ukraine annektieren wird, sondern es geht ihm viel mehr um einen Regime-Wechsel in Kiev.
Die Börsen sind heute Vormittag weiter eingebrochen, auch Bitcoin hat noch einmal um 10% nachgegeben. Rohöl und Gold profitieren unmittelbar von der Krise.
Denke, dass sich der Kryptomarkt rasch wieder erholen wird, sollte der Konflikt und die Sanktionspolitik der USA/EU nicht komplett eskalieren, die USA möchte der EU Sanktionen aufzwingen und der EU die russischen Gas-Pipelines abdrehen, Bitcoin könnte von einem Krieg sogar profitieren und sich als inflationssichere und zensurresistente Krisen-Währung behaupten.

War in Ukraine has started, the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics have officially asked Russia for help in protecting the Russian population in Ukraine from quote "ultra-nationalist, russiaphobic fascists" funded by the U.S. and supported by NATO. Putin says, Ukraine has already de facto joined NATO or is on its way there.
In an hour-long speech, the Russian president laid out the background to the war from his point of view and also spoke of the acute danger of nuclear weapons and the production of weapons of mass destruction in Ukraine. An allusion to the pretext used by the U.S. to attack and invade Iraq in 2003. Russia, he continued, feels threatened by NATO's "treaty-breaking" eastward expansion to its national border.
He is certainly not entirely wrong in this, the truth, as so often, lies somewhere in the middle.
The question is how far Putin will go, I don't think he will annex Ukraine, rather he is much more interested in a regime and policy change in Kiev.
Stock markets continued to crash this morning, Bitcoin also down another 10%. Crude oil and gold are profiting directly from the crisis.
However, I think crypto will recover quickly, should the conflict and the sanctions policy of the US/EU not escalate completely, the US wants to impose sanctions on the EU and cut off Russian gas pipelines to the EU, Bitcoin could even benefit from a war and assert itself as an inflation-proof and censorship-resistant crisis currency.
