Extending the target market to the niche of the mud business community, Taco Interior Products, as the provider of high pressure laminates (HPL) coatings, aims to sell 4 million pieces until 2019.
Currently, according to Director of Taco Interior Products Robert Tanoyo, the production capacity reaches 300,000 pieces per month.
"By expanding the millennial market segment, especially the middle income segment, we are optimistic that the sales target will be achieved," Robert said, answering reporters on Friday (9/21/2018).
Robert claims, Taco is the ruler of the HPL coating market in Indonesia with a 60 percent portion, compared to 40 percent owned by several competitors.
With the market penetration of millennial businessmen, he hopes the existence of tacos can be better known and also become the top choice.
"We play in all segments, not only corporations, but also retailers, especially home and apartment owners. Now the middle-class millennials are big and potential niches, our market share is expected to be bigger," Robert added.
Taco Interior Products provides premium quality wall and floor coatings that can be accessed by the upper middle millennial generation, ranging from IDR 800,000 to IDR 2 million per meter run.
While to accommodate the middle to lower class millennial generation, Taco offers polyvinyl chloride or PVC wall and floor coatings at a price of around Rp. 40,000 per meter run.
Despite opening factories and producing in Indonesia, Taco still imports goods from abroad, especially for paper raw materials.
"We are still importing yes, the content is around 70 percent. While the local content is 30 percent. However, Rupiah fluctuations are not too significant to the revised sales target," Robert said.
Until now, Taco has established a corporate partnership with the Ciputra Group, and Agung Sedayu Group, just mentioning the name, to design the interior of the latest properties.
