Good evening my lovelies!
Well, it's safe to say my brain is a tad discombobulated this evening having finally finished the last portrait commission in my calender for this year. That little dog was so hairy! Blimey! Anyway - the reality is, I've really procrastinated over this drawing, but now it's finished, I'm pleased with the result. I filmed the process, so will share a time-lapse with you soon.
So - I'm sticking to a simple gratitude post for tonight- and I'm taking it outside of the realms of Steemit.
I'm so grateful for finishing that darn beagle! It is a joy to me now to take some time away from commission work to re-discover a bit more of my own style, and begin to explore my own look and loves within my artwork for the rest of the year. The intense drawing time I usually spend on commissions will be put aside for finishing and submitting my novel to publishers. The big news on this one (
... you're going to shake your head and sigh, I fear) - I'm hopping back over to get the rom-com finished by the end of October... because the fantasy book is HUGE!
Despite being thrilled that it is Friday, and I've got a 3 day weekend in front of me (I'm an idiot and booked the wrong Monday off for Bank Holiday - doh!) - I have to grudgingly give sincere thanks that I have a day-job that supports me. It's easy to forget how dire things can be when this isn't the case. I took my mind back to when I was unemployed after college, and how quickly everything becomes a desperate hunt for money for the basics. I'm so grateful that I'm not in that position.
I'm excitedly grateful... that I'm hopefully going to be picking up a guitar tomorrow. SQUEE! No doubt more on this exciting development tomorrow.
What are you grateful for this evening?
Big love to you all, see you tomorrow,
Eveningart x
