This week has taken its toll on me. Work has been tough going, lots of drama's and problems to deal with. My job is 90% straightforward, just the usual tasks and keeping things running smoothly. 10% however is crisis management and dealing with issues as they arise. Sometimes - like this week, that 10% all comes at once. I have just felt like I have spent the week putting out spot-fires, dealing with conflict between team members, and generally trying to clean up other peoples mess. Frustrating!!
But the good news is I have 6 shifts to go (7 days) and then I have 4 weeks off. Woohoo. We don't have big plans for my holidays, just a few little trips and so on but no big travel. So I should have plenty of time for steeming, and lots more frequent #ulogs. I am going to challeng myself to ulog everyday of my holidays, and find things to do and write about to make these posts interesting.
During the week I finished my Raffle raising money for 's #hayrunners appeal. I was pleased with the outcome - with 25.746 STEEM raised. All funds go to help Australian farmers suffering from drought, by sponsoring a delivery of Hay to areas in need. Check out the #hayrunners link to find some posts on this, your can help the cause just with a simple upvote on a #hayrunners post with all liquid payouts from those posts being donated.
I have written in the past about earning a byteball income by running the World Community Grid program. You can check this old post from 3 weeks ago for full details on how to do it. Just a quick update, its still working really well. In the 3 weeks since that post, I have made 0.08065 Gbytes which is about $5.15 USD or $7.20 AUD. Thats an average of around $0.25 USD per day. Not a lot but it is a way to accumulate a cryptocurrency without requiring any work. You set it up, and then just check every now and then and make sure its still running and not hurting your computer. Easy Money really and using your computer to help researchers find a cure for some terrible diseases. If that isn't a win-win deal then I don't know what is.
The other thing I did this week was to put a small amount of real world money into STEEM. I found it very clearly showed where the future lies. It took 2 days to move my fiat into a crypto On-Ramp type service Coinjar. Once it was there, Within 15 minutes it was converted to BTC, sent to and converted to STEEM. The speed of that process, compared to moving fiat, showed me once again where the future lies.
The reason for doing this, was mainly to add more shares, and to enroll in the new
program. This is being set up by
, and looks alot like an alternative/supplement to
. I still love my SBI but will look to build this up also to add an extra flow of votes to my posts. When someone says "life-time income", My interest sparks up, so lets see how this new project works.
I'll leave it at that today, sorry its so wordy and no interesting pictures. I will lift my #ulog game when I get to my holidays, but for now there is just words.
Thanks for reading and have a great day,
John.
