I got home so late close to midnight yesterday because of that crash in the picture. No matter how careful you are as a driver, there will be some careless ones, and if both drivers are careful, there is always some randy ones on the highway. But in my city, the poor road network and narrow major Highways makes things hard to go smoothly. The crash was caused by the poor roads and this causes massive traffic every faithful day in Lagos Nigeria.
As you know it, every business has its ups and downs. Haulage/transportation has its too and accidents is one of the common hazards amongst other things like fire outbreak, theft, explosion, damaged goods in transits etc. The man in the car was claiming right and we also claimed not guilty, hence we lasted hours adding to the already densely jampacked highway till traffic and law officials arrived.
The truck was an Older version of Ford Explorer, with a Wooden covered caravan converted for goods and services movement. The back is solid strong and coated with some heavy metals hence any bash on the Truck damages the other vehicle especially the modern cars and jeeps, heavy trucks could have a significant effect on it so any smaller vehicle or of the same size would suffer more than our truck in case of any headlong or rear crash.
Yesterday was a sideways crash, so the woods and fibre suffered little scratches, the car on the other hand lost one of its side mirror and after treats and curses, we parted ways as friends giving each other advise on how to avoid future occurrence.
Time also was a victim in the epic little road drama, homeward after a stressful day took longer than expected. But, in all things, nobody got hurt and today business was as usual with no fixing and painting needed.
Boy that was close!!!
