My husband and I loves watching movies. Our regular dates include watching movies in the cinema. We hear a new movie coming soon, we both set our calendars to remind us when. I even have a collection of the movie tickets we watched together.
But it all changed when I gave birth to our daughter. Parenthood changed us both. Well, not really technically changed us, but our priorities. Before, we would go out on weekends and just have fun and enjoy each others' company. And I'm glad we did! Apparently because babies take up all our time and energy.
Our daughter is already two years old and to be honest, we have just recovered from the paradigm shift. The "Table for two, please" became "Table for two and a high chair, please." Our food selection process now includes "Will the baby like that?" Even the movie choice had to be Rated G now. Oh, and going out means we are trying to drain our little one's energy.
Last night was family date night. We brought our daughter to the cinema to watch Hotel Transylvania 3. A nice movie, by the way. But before the movie house, we brought her somewhere else.
Most parents would bring their kid in playhouses. Not us. We sure have brought her to Kidzoona and that other playhouse. But these places are not just super overpriced, it bores my kid before she finishes the hour. So we brought her to the arcade. And she had a blast!
