Hello #ulographers! Every summer we come and visit this place. It is located in the center of Pernik, Bulgaria. KraKra Castle is a rocky plateau with an altitude of 744 meters and now a protected area. According to the history, it started in the 5th century when the settlers came and lived there until the 19th century. More info here:

A King name KraKra and his family used to live in a big castle, along with his workers. They had everything in the castle. Then the Byzantine invaders came and tried to occupy the whole city. The King and his soldiers protected the castle by building enourmous walls and they made powerful weapons to chase them away. After a long battle, King KraKra succeeded, since then this place was named after the King of KraKra. My husband shared this story with me (easier version)

Some remains of the castle are still there but a few years ago, they made some changes in the whole area and added some walls. You'll have a good visibility of the whole town Pernik once you reach the top. KraKra Castle is surrounded by Golo Barado, Lyulin, Vitosha and Cherna Gora mountains.
It was nice to see this place again, especially for my husband, maybe some of his ancestors lived in KraKra Castle and fought for their freedom.
