'Kids and Animals.'
'An entertaining encounter!'
Kids can certainly be entertaining.........as can animals, but when they are together, the impact is doubled. I came across this fun animal enclosure at Old Town Petrie in Queensland, Australia and I really enjoyed watching the interaction between the children and the animals.
For people like myself who grew up in New Zealand, surrounded by farms and farm animals, I believe I took the times I spent with them for granted. Rural properties have retreated with the spread of suburbia and made visiting farms or small acreages a novelty for the families of today.
To see the joy on the children's faces in these images was a delight and it was obvious that the animals were enjoying being feed, patted and admired. They were very gentle with the children......even though the young calf (above) had an insatiable appetite and seemed to eat the entire time I was watching and taking photographs.
Three heads. One bucket. The black goat didn't stand a chance with the calf and white goat munching on the feed in the pink bucket.
Three kids. One Mum. Isn't this an adorable picture?
Two kids. One Mum. How cute is this?
The calf and the lamb are obviously very good friends and are comfortable each others company.
This white goat is not going anywhere in a hurry. He is enjoying every loving scratch on the back of his head. If goats could purr, I'm sure he would drown out the sounds of activity all around him.
Ducklings in white baskets eat their full and take an inquisitive look around.
And the calf is STILL eating.
But she has to stop for a moment to get rid of a pesky insect on her back.
The next two shots are my favourite. A young girl is clearly infatuated with a white silky hen who allows her to pick it up to stroke its soft feathers.
The rest of the world ceases to exist for this little girl and nothing else matters, apart from these few precious moments spent with this obliging silkie hen.
THANK YOU FOR VIEWING. HAVE A GREAT DAY.
