Hello. On today's Ulog, I wish to share with you a thrilling experience I had in the clinic. I shall explain why I referred to it as a thrilling experience.
A young woman and a man, who I think is her husband frantically rushed to our hospital (where I undergo medical training). With them was a very cute child who was in obvious distress and writhing in pains. He was looking pale already. A wooden blade was stuck at the lateral part of his face very close to his right ear. They were referred to the neurosurgery clinic for proper evaluation and investigation.
The neurosurgery team feared that some important structures close to the area might be damaged. We sent them for radiological investigation, to the glory of God, no important underlying structures were damlaged. It was a pleasant news. Everyone was happy.
They were booked for emergency surgery. And the surgeons showed great ambidexterity.
A careful incision and exposure of the area was made and the wood was removed.
And finally the wound was sutured and the fine boy was back! Take a look below
I was very happy and I felt fulfilled! There's this ineffable joy you always feel when you help someone and know the person will be fine. Right yeah?
Smiles!
