The constant raining was responsible for the instant pool in the garden.
We suddenly got anxious over the fact that if the rain does not stop, water might reach our house. Which means dirt and mess, which means cleaning, which means work.
Anxious that we were, my daughter was different.
Happiness was etched in the face of my little one. She was excited to go out and wade in the made-up pool of water outside. Her happiness was that contagious that even I wanted to go out and play and dance in the rain.
However, I got to my senses that we have a Bible study to attend.
Naturally, I stopped myself musing over that playful scene. And we stopped her before she even actually went out. We know the dangers of wading in the water. It could mean disease.
It was raining hard.
But inspite of the heavy rain, husband made a make-shift path out of hollow blocks.
We needed to go out and attend our midweek Bible study meeting. All geared up, we were ready to face the angry weather with a smile.
We only needed to keep our balance. Little one had fun crossing the path, while I was anxious she might fall. But she successfully walked through it.
It was my turn but unfortunately, one of the hollow blocks cracked. To make this clear, it was weak from the start so it cracked. It wasn't because it failed to carry my weight. Oh well, I am being defensive here, am I? O_o
What happened next was unexpected. Things happened so fast and before I knew it, I was on the water. My little one and husband were on the rescue. I needed to change and it took me a little less than 5 minutes to take a bath and get changed to dry clothes.
Nursing a sprained ankle, we managed to attend the meeting. It went pretty well and enjoyed the homey feeling because inspite of the cold weather, the brothers and sisters were so warm.
I had the privilege of taking part in a demonstration with my daughter.
Funny, while I was all nervous, she enjoyed being at the stage. She affected me alright and calmed my nerves.
The rain didn't stop during the meeting. So it was not surprising to see that the was water still in the garden when we went home.
The make-shift hollow blocks was submerged and so we have no choice but to wade in the water.
Boy, it was fun. Lol!
Too bad I didn't catch a photo of us having fun, dancing in the drizzle and laughing.
It won't hurt to be a kid sometimes.
Anyway, we went straight to wash our feet and legs really well and put on some alcohol as soon as we entered the house.
