To be honest I found it chaotic, tragic... and it’s talking about the waste of his life. I understand the message behind it, I just didn’t think it was good. It’s just my opinion... I didn’t like the fact that they were pushing it too much. I love Adam, he’s a good actor in general... but it felt like they were pushing him into a role that he normally doesn’t do.
There was little to no action, romance, comedy. It was just a guy and the misfortune that happens in his life, mainly caused by his addiction to gamble and “make more money” and “be on top” which could have all be avoided easily. The whole thing felt edgy I suppose. It felt like slice-of-life following a guy through his tragic life, and mess his own shit up. I was just bored... and confused. I understand what they were trying to say through the message.
I’m no movie critique, and I have a very different style of media and literature I enjoy.
