I made a trip to a new attraction in Glasgow with some friends. Its cold Topgolf, and is a very impressive golf driving range.
I'm not actually a golfer. A few in the group do play golf but are not super serious, and the other half of us were non-golfers. I have to saw I was so impressed with the facility, that as a non-golfer, I would absolutely go again !
The place was full of tech. The golf balls are chipped, so everything is tracked by computer screens in your golf bay. You can simply just drive balls into the range all day, or you can play games ! There were a number of games on the computer that you can play, with all the targets out in the range able to pick up where your ball landed and assign points - it was really cool.
As it was a mixed group, we played angry birds ! On screen it shows the castle things that you have to knock down, in relation to the targets out in the range, and you drive the balls at the targets to knock down the buildings and get points. This really was fun, and I could see that anyone would love that - so I'm seriously considering taking my family.
It was fairly pricey - but to be fair it was awesome. The building is brand new and setup brilliantly, and the tech side of things just took it to another level for us.
Its also pretty big. We were actually up on the third level, which was giving us non-golfers quite a head start when punting the balls out into the range !
And it was quite funny, we were right beside the motorway, and quite high up, so it was odd to be looking down onto the cars driving past, while at a driving range !
All the clubs were provided as well - which made it easy.
I have to say it was so well thought out and setup that it opens up the driving range to anyone. It doesnt matter whether you like golf or not, or whether you are good at it or not. It was just fun !
And just looked at those nets - they were huge ! I guess they had to be - you get a lot of bad golfers !
I have to say I was totally impressed and really enjoyed it, and would definitely go back ! A nice activity for the weekend !
