A couple of days ago, i read an article about the TEARDROPS CONTEST and kept asking myself whether my experiences are worthy enough to be told and more over touch the hearts of many.
but then I remembered the saying that,
" history belongs to those who survived and has the courage to share"
It was for this reason I decided to share a little experience of mine I had a few years back I was in senior high school (shs).
My stay in T.I AMASS was so much full of bitter sweet experiences that I sometimes laugh when ever those memories comes to mind. I attended salaga t.i ahmadiyya senior high in the northern region where a lot of people agree to the fact that, it isn't easy being a student in any school within the surroundings of salaga due to so many factors.
One of these factors were lack of portable drinking water which many even saw as the main factor hindering school-student growth within the community hence needed to be addressed immediately. We all will agree that, our most vital resource during our high school days was none other than 'WATER'. We used it for so many purposes and the most common among them were 'soaking gari' and I know very well that no secondarian will dispute this fact. I hope you can all relate when you rush after preps to the dormitory to do your soakings only to realise there is no water. there you will agree with the scientists that, water is life and life is water.
Because of lack of water during our days in senior high school, we walked so many paths in search of water. There were days u had no choice than to go about stealing water just to perform your daily chores before going to school. Just as in every situation, some days were cruel and others nice to us. They were certain days we weren't fortunate enough no matter the means we use just to get portable water. But all the same, we never stopped from going to school just because there was no water. This were the days we will go to school without taking a Bath and those with little water, all they can do is to perform the popular dry washing called 'congo'. I know most of guys who weren't fortunate enough to have attended the kind of school I went can relate.
So because of lack of water, many resort to like winter Alot for one particular reason which is, covering up for not bathing due to the hash weather conditions during this time of the year, which in actual sense is not true. it was all due to lack of water and not winter conditions.
One funny factor was bedbugs Which many secondarians call 'army of the lazy: oppose learning and face me'. During our days in secondary school, whenever your bed was reported to have bedbugs then that was the beginning of the end for you. Though bedbugs had a lot of effects such as rushes and other symptoms as well. Bedbugs effects was so severe that, when they bit you through out night, you looks like a black tiger.
It was unfortunate on our path for going to T.i Amass because every child wants to go to an indicipline school where we think there is absolute freedom to do what you wants. I went to a school where there was absolutely no freedom if I must say. Duriny my school days, I cursed the computer placement system that took me there for doing more harm to me than good. Actually I didn't know that, all these will pay off one day. And even pave way for learning new things such as cryptocurrencies, sql, java e.t.c
In a nutshell, I was very happy and proud In the end. Upon all those challenges I was able to come out with flying colours. It was this moment I realised that, it is true what they say, we all plan but God knows what's best for you and we all dream but God knows what's install for you.
Here I am on steemit with all hopes that, I grow to be a whale and it all started in senior high school.
