When I give thanks to God, one of the things I thank Him for is steemit! God bless the day (December 22nd)
told me about steemit, I had second thoughts because I felt it was one of those ponzi schemes that ripped us off that year.
2017 was filled with challenges-Roses and thorns that's the best description.
Before steemit, I used to drown myself in my phone screen for hours, scrolling through my instagram feed admiring insta slay queens with their 24inch waistline and 50+hip width or bellanaijaweddings page wondering when I would have such magnificent wedding
or should I say snapchat: viewing snaps of the popular controversial crossdresser Bobrisky(oshey baddest) his twerking, clapbacks, savage replies to haters or girls with their lipsyncs
or on twitter: learning the art of savagery and throwing shades at celebs or should I say facebook, the list of purposeless activities on social media could go on and on. I was an obsessed media freak in a wilderness wallowing in ignorance. I swear, nothing come out from those hours I wasted on snapchat or instagram.
Since I started steemit, I don't spend so much time as I used to on instagram or snapchat. I have gained a lot of knowledge especially in cryptocurrency, infact before steemit I belonged to the crew that referred to it as "blood money" OGWUEGO! But reading writeups on steemit plus little research work has restructured my mentality. Infact one of my resolutions is to dive fully into the world of crypto, it's amazing.
"I ain't no writer"that's what I used to say and believe but steemit has brought out the writer side of me and now I feel as though I just came out of the closet. I'm not the sociable type too but steemit has changed that aspect of me, watch out for me in the next steem naija meetup!!
I really appreciate for giving me this avenue to express myself on what steemit has done in my life. Cheers to wonderful 2018 fellow steemians!!
