We have no idea what we're doing, but we're doing it!
It's not quite finishe, we've been working on this thing for two days now and there's still a lottle work!
So one of the producers came down and asked if we could build a ramp for his kid... that's where you get other departments in the business talking behind our back. Aparently we're kissing ass! No my problem, you think what you want but it thw hrand scheme of things I've secured three more days of work (because we're building a ramp instead of breaking down the stages) and I am learning something!
I want to learn something everyday and do a good job and it... there may be a fay here and there where nothing new comes up.
I'm not goin to give you plans, this isn't a how to post, though maybe those of you who are builders and makers can see what we've done right or wrong... don't hesitate to critique 😉!
Here you go:
First a little cut out the the landing deck... Is that even what it's called?
Then, with a little math, a nail and a string we drew the arc (4 foot high to 6 foot long if that makes any sense!)
We did two times and put both pieces through the jigsaw.. I need a hell of a lpt mpre practice on the jigsaw... my cut wasn't the straightest!
But then we srewd the two pieces together all lined up correctly and sanded it down to have equal pieces and a nice smooth curve.
In the back there, we used a 2x6 to suport the landing deck, and kept on screwing 2x4's all the way down the curve.
That landing deck will be detachable so that it can fit in a garage and we added wheels to the ramp so it can be moved when they want to use it. Pretty clever I thought that was!
Here's the framing for that removable landing deck and the grinding rail... it was the thing that took the most debate and time to do!!! I'm the only one in the group who's ever been on a skateboard and they still can't hear me out about the spacing of the rail. But we got it in the end!
There you go... almost done. Those are temporary legs in the back.
We will finish this thing up monday I suppose. Not too bad for our first time building a skateboard ramp!!! The other hardest part was using 1/2 inch plywood for the actual curve in the ramp. We had to score it every 4 inches so it could bend. Probably not the right material to use, I'm sure there is better stuff but we used what we had and that's what we made 😁!
UP-CYCLING HOLLYWOOD!
