Life should never be all work and no play; even for the Food Bank volunteers.
It has been an educational trip for the team to learn a lot about how a sustaining ecosystem looks like.
With the generous invitation and donation from the project spearheaders
and Lex, we went to their vertical farm to harvest full scale hydroponic vegetables / herbs for the LCS seniors The Heritage and also some for our own.
Our first impression was, impressive and we really couldn't say much of it except fascinated with the beautiful vegetables.
Our pose with 's owner, Lex, before the mini tour starts.
They even have a tiny corner for feeding tortoises with the vegetables.
Our harvest started after the rest arrived and a brief picnic breakfast with 's coffee blessing all the way from Australia; and we got quite a bit of them that are harvested for The Heritage seniors home.
With all sorts of vegetables: from spinach, Bok Choy, and we even tasted the Wasabi vegetable.
In the end before we call it a day we had a good fellowship time.
Thanks to , the seniors gets a salad treat and healthy greens the next few days!
