UPLIFTING NEWS CHALLENGE
Today is the first of a series of weekly challenges that I am starting called the uplifting news challenge, #upliftingnews.
PURPOSE
Today's world is filled with constant negative news: crime, terrorism, politics, wars, etc. I know the world is better than this, but it is not necessarily easy to find positive news. The purpose of this contest is to provide a weekly curation of positive news from around the world into one place on Steemit to counterbalance all the negative news. In the process, some lucky individuals will earn some steem dollars. We will all feel better about the world.
RULES
- Each participant can write as many as 2 short posts per contest summarizing and linking to a recent (preferably within the last week or so) uplifting news article they read. The posts do not need to be very lengthy since a link to the actual news story will be provided. Identifying local news stories is encouraged but not required since these are less likely to make national or world news.
- Each participant must upvote and resteem this post to spread the news about this challenge and to increase the reward pool (see below).
- Entry titles should use this format, 'Uplifting News Challenge #1 - Entry 1', and use 'upliftingnews' as the main tag.
- To make it easier to identify all challenge entries, please link to your post in the comments section of this post.
WINNERS
Winners will be selected by me this week. There will be 3 winners who will divide the steem dollar payout from this contest post.
- First Place - 50% of steem dollar payout
- Second Place - 35% of steem dollar payout
- Third Place - 15% of steem dollar payout
**Note**
This is the first contest for this challenge so the payout will likely be small to start since at the moment, there are no sponsers. Please bare with me during the first few weeks of this challenge. If I have difficulty getting traction, I will likely start rewarding my own steem dollars to get more participants in the challenge. I anticipate that future payout should increase as the word gets out. Thanks for being patient.
