This quote can easily be connected to people NOT struggling with drugs - but still struggling with where they're at in life.
"Everything good that's ever happened to me is a result of a decision I made to put myself in the position to be there. Everything bad is my own fault. Nobody ever forced me to get high. Nobody ever forced me to go to prison. I ASKED to go to prison by the way I was living. I asked to go to prison every time I started dealing dope again. That was my decision. We make excuses today for drug addicts. We make excuses for them which gives them reason to continue to use and continue to relapse by trying to make it someone else's fault. Basically drug use is a decision ESPECIALLY once you get clean. Once you get clean and decide to use again that is a DAMN Decision."
