Understanding Steemhunt
A lot of people jump on Steemhunt blindfolded, without any knowledge, thinking that getting success on Steemhunt is easy. That's not true at all. Getting success on Steemhunt takes time and dedication, even more after hunter levels. You need to first learn about Steemhunt and how it works so you can get above others. Here are a couple of articles that will point you in right direction.
These will give a good understanding of Steemhunt and what types of products are allowed on it. Still if you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the question as understanding Steemhunt thoroughly is one of the main things many user s lack.
Knowing What Cool Products Are
To get success on Steemhunt you should only hunt "cool" products. Having all products with good score will increase your user score quickly allowing you to earn more rewards. You will be thinking what are cool products exactly so I will explain it to you. The cool products are - at least for me - products that you want to click on as soon as you see them.
The reason why you want cool products is that they are more likely to be clicked and be upvoted by others. These products tend to reach top 10 most of the time. Here are some things that makes a product cool. Make sure your product has all these things.
- Nice GIF
- Good one line description
- High quality images
- Good Title
If all these qualities are found in a product, I am sure anybody who sees the product will want to click it to know more about the product. I know you will be thinking "Ok, now I know what products to find but I don't know from where to find them". Don't worry, I have got you covered.
Finding Cool Products
Youtube Method
Now that you know what type of products to look for, let me explain to you where to look for those products. Many people just go to "ProductHunt" which is a similar website to Steemhunt but as the community of Steemhunt is increasing so is competition. It is becoming harder to find products and looking for products on ProductHunt is not the right thing to do.
First of all, find a good niche. Looking for just "gadgets" will take you a long time to find a good product. Instead, try something specific like drones, smartwatches and cameras. Focusing on a specific type will allow you to find cool products very quickly.
Now you have find a specific type you want to focus on. In this tutorial, I will take "drones" as an example. The first website to check is YouTube. Just go there and search something like "Top 10 Drones in 2018" or "Top High Quality Drones". As you can see once I search this, I got very good videos that will help me find me that perfect drone for Steemhunt.
Now that you have quite a good amount of videos. Let's start looking through them to find yourself a drone. I won't click on the first video because it says "Available on Amazon" and Amazon links are not allowed on Steemhunt. Instead, I will click on the fourth video because I think I will find a good drone in that video. Watch through entire video and find interesting drone from them.
Alternate Method
If you don't want to use the Youtube method then no problem, I have a alternate method for you. There's this website called LaunchFeed which displays all the products which are recently published on BetaList, ProductHunt, Show HN and Kickstarter. With all things in one place, you can easily find new products.
I will recommend you to focus on Kickstarter and BetaList because usually they are the gold mines which will allow you to find cool products easily. Please make sure that product isn't already hunted.
Posting Products
Some of you might think that this part us useless what's so difficult about posting. You're right, posting isn't hard but adding that attractiveness in your post is hard. I'll go through each part one by one so bare with me.
Title
Title should be very plain and formal looking. It should only include the name of the product and that's it.
Description
Description shouldn't be very long. Most of the time you can get away with copying it. You can add one emoji at the end. Like if it's a flying RC plane, you can add plane emoji (✈️) to make the description more attractive.
Images
The first image should always be GIF. If you don't have a GIF for your product then you must have a YouTube video of your product. If that's the case then you can use this website to convert it to a GIF. Other images are not necessary to be GIF but they should be high quality and relevant none the less.
Hunter Comment
Hunter comment is also one of the things. In hunter comments, you should tell the details of the product but don't go in very depth because you have to manage 1,000 word limit and use it wisely. Keep your hunter comment highly formatted so it looks pretty.
Special Tips
You now have almost everything you know but following these extra tips will increase your chance of getting success even more. The first tip is that you should always at midnight KST. You should focus on 1 hunt per day, instead of creating multiple hunts, use all of that energy in creating that hunt perfect.
