The world is changing, every single second. And Android itself is taking a new shape day by day... I could remember back then when Android came on board with Android version 1.6. It was astonishing, I thought that would be the end but I was wrong. Later on the produced 2.0-2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.0-3.2, 4.0, 4.1-4.3, 4.4, 5.0-5.1, 6.0, 7.0-7.1 and now 8.0
What am trying to bring out is that Android versions always upgrade. So also is the apps running on the phone. Now to my point. When I heard about the Android 6.0, I was excited about it and I quickly rushed to buy it because of the features. Especially the fingerprint. When I got the phone I told my friends about it, but they didn't believed me, thinking I was trying to prank them. I also downloaded some apps and discovered that I could use my fingerprint as my password or pin too. They didn't believed either until I told them to try it if it'll work for them.
The interesting part was that they bought new phones and downloaded some of my apps just to feel awesome, in a way of using their fingerprint to lock apps.
Nowadays most apps, possess that option, especially the ones that deals on some vital information.
On our dear esteem App, it has a pin security only. We know that nowadays users, like to use the latest and also to protect themselves in a very simple but complicated way. Which is why am suggesting the need for our dear esteem App to have the biometric security added to the App.
REASON FOR THIS
When a screen turns off or the user wish to multi task, the user coming back to the app, might find it difficult to type in his/her pin, due to the fact that he/she already has an App that uses biometric security(fingerprint)
Not only that, the app looks more professional with this feature.
Now when a friend or a anyone have access to this users device, they might want to access their apps just for fun or for transaction. Now such intruders will be restricted with this feature.
OBSERVATION
I noticed how the pin area is designed, which I'll like to be changed to a more professional look/feature
{see image below}
It's supposed to be better than this
PROPOSED SOLUTION
I think there should be change not only on the pin area but also on the settings page.
I was able to edit some image to show how it should look like...
An existing user should be able to activate this feature by going to settings, and see something like this
{see image below}
From the above image, users see where to enable finger print
From the above image, users should be able to enable biometric authentication if they so wish. And after which, a page pops up, requesting them to confirm their fingerprint, or use the one stored in their devices initially
{see image below}
After which it has been set and confirmed, if the screen is locked or they multi tasked, coming back to the esteem App, they should see something like this(see image below)
There is spot at the right corner of the pop up window to cancel it if they wish
The above image shows a pop up window indicating that the fingerprint is not found on the database, and no access is granted.
The above image indicates that the genuine owner has signed in which is equal to his password, and thus, he/she has gained access so simply....
CONCLUSSION
When this feature is put in place, it'll make the app more secure, makes it professional, and users will find it so easy to sign in.
It eludes intruders from the App!!!
I hope my suggestion is considered and approved!!!
Together, we'll make this world a better place
