There seem to be no carpooling for road trips, during events there is a need to carpool for large number of people. It has to be self sustainable, meaning helping the car drivers. So far carpooling is not a money making process unless you have a new car and do grab or uber. While also to add grab / uber is already cheap compared to taxis. As such, many car drivers do not get the motivation in providing carpool.
The events that I am referring to could be the weekend trip to out of town. Which usually not practical for uber / grab. Because they are mostly used for city travel.
It would be great that people can get the benefits in carpooling to get to meet new friends in the weekends for a short road trip such as hiking or outdoor trips, missionary trips, casual out of town food trips, photography trips and many more.
