Utopian Help Center (Update 23-Nov-2017)
I am writing content for the Utopian Help Center which will be launched soon and this is a report on my progress for today.
Completing "The basics"
Today, I added more content to "The basics" section, completing it for now. It is the first section of the Contributor's Quick Start Guide and it explains the basics of using the Utopian platform.
Pull request: Add content for Search and Settings
The content I added:
- Search
A search bar is located right at the top of the page and you can use it to search for projects or contributions in various categories. Use it to find projects or contributions by keyword, or to find something specific.
- Settings
This page allows you to customize your experience on Utopian. Currently, there is only the option to change the language, but more options will be made available soon. Utopian is rapidly developing and many changes are planned as it transitions to Version 2.
I also did some work on the Contributor Quick Start Guide page's style:
- Added Heading styles, with custom top and bottom margins and font sizes
- Added lines to separate the major sections
Pull request: Styling fixes and minor edits (Contributors Guide)
The next section I'm working on is Making a contribution and it will guide people through the process of writing a post in the editor, entering all required metadata and then submitting it for review.
Initial content for the Project Owner Quick Start Guide
I have also written the first few sections of what will be the Quick Start Guide for Project Owners. I spent most of my time today coming up with the overall structure of the page's content and then started writing when I had a structure to follow. Pull request: Initial content (Project Owners Guide)
Here's the content:
Project Owner Quick Start Guide
Utopian helps connect project owners with valuable contributors, expediting the project development process. Make task requests for your project and find the right people to work with.
Getting Started
To bring your project to the Utopian community, you first need to create a Steem account. This is the Steem account you will login with on Utopian, using your private key (active or owner key, or master password) via the secure, Steemit Inc. operated signing service SteemConnect.
Link your GitHub account
Once your Steem account is setup and you've successfully logged in, the next step is to link your GitHub account with your Utopian account. To do this, go to the GitHub Connection section, in the right side panel, and click Synch with GitHub.
This will take you to the following screen, if you are already logged in to GitHub:
If you're not logged in to GitHub, you will be asked to sign in.
This asks you to verify that you are giving Utopian access to your GitHub account. It also lists the types of data that Utopian will have access to. To continue synchronizing your account, click Authorize utopian-io.
It should take a few seconds to link your accounts and you will be brought to your Projects home page afterwards, where all your repositories will now be listed.
Some links are inactive because they will link to future pages still being developed.
Visit the GitHub repository.
