INTRODUCTION
Spectrum is an open source Android application that manages your device's kernel based on usage. It works on only rooted devices. Most kernels don't support spectrum so if you want your device's kernel to support spectrum follow the steps in the respository. Spectrum might be old but trust me the app still gets works done!.
It has 4 different modes, which are: Balance, Performance, Battery and Gaming. I'll be explaining all 4 modes;
- BALANCE:
In balance mode your kernel default settings are what enabled here so if you like your present kernels performance you can put it on balance mode. No tweaks here just your device's kernels default settings. - PERFORMANCE:
Have you been experiencing lag in your device wether on the UI or device performance well once you've enabled this say goodbye to all those as this mode helps in increasing device performance and also limits graphics to maintain a good battery backup. - BATTERY:
This is one of my best features of the spectrum app. I have a 3000mah battery and even when I enable battery saver mode I still get about 3 hours s.o.t in normal usage. But after installing spectrum and enabling battery mode I get up to 8 hours s.o.t. yes it reduces performance by a lot! But it's worth it! Cause I use my Android phone for mostly gaming and seeing movies. So if you want more from your device based on battery backup this mode is for you! - GAMING:
This right here is my best mode of spectrum because I'm a hardcore gamer! I don't know how this app does it but when I'm gaming with this mode enabled everything is smooth not a single lag! And normally my phone over heats when I'm gaming but not anymore thanks to spectrum. Just that this mode takes a large toll on battery backup and if you'd ask me I say it's worth it!
You can get spectrum on the Google play store here
