Over 1400 Nigerians reached about Steemit on Facebook.

Introduction

When I was introduced to Steemit some weeks ago by Hive account@joshuaetim, I knew I'll play one major role in the Steemit community building - and that is promoting Steemit to the youths and providing them with necessary information on how to succeed on Steemit.

To achieve this I had put in some words on my Facebook wall which resulted in about 27 new registration in one week. These users include Hive account@joyce-okpobo Hive account@iliyap Hive account@profaricson Hive account@jingis07 Hive account@paparazy06 Hive account@chris9911 Hive account@itini and a others. But now, this wasn't enough so I created a special Facebook page to further promote Steemit and introduce Nigerian youths to the platform. So far, over one thousand four hundred (1400) Nigerians have been reached through this campaign with the post here

Audience

The target groups are both male and female within the age bracket 18-65 with special interest in those living in the north central geopolitical zone. What informed my decision is because I live in this zone and will be available to organize trainings and meetups for new and old members. Also, some seasoned Steemit promoters like Hive account@ewuoso have done greatly in reaching to Nigerians in the south western city of Ibadan and Lagos.

Activities

Getting people to join Steemit is very important but one more important part is giving them proper orientation and guidance through their journey on Steemit. To achieve this I also created a Whatsapp group called steematozoan for the sole purpose of providing proper orientations and training to new members on Steemit. I do invite experienced members of the Steemit community from time to time to come give proper lectures to the new members. So its not just about creating post campaigns on Facebook but also follow up support so they can utilize the platform in the right way. Results

The result of this campaign has had users engagements - with old members helping to add authenticity to the message by commenting and sharing and new members reaching me to find out more about Steemit and how they can join.

As at the time of writing this post over one thousand four hundred have been reached and the number is still rising.

This is just the beginning. I target to reach at least 50,000 Nigerians on social media and 2000 more in person by the end of March this year. Steemit is a decentralized platform for the youths to engage and express their thought while making some earnings to provide for their needs. This message must be carried to the deepest part of Africa. There's so much we can achieve in Africa with the little tools we have. All this was achieved with my smartphone. I encourage everyone to get up and promote Steemit and the other platforms on the Steem blockchain till everyone is reached with this message.
