Steem blockchain has been around for a while now, and steemit was the first platform that was built on the steem blockchain. steemit was launch on July 2016 by its founders Ned Scott and Dan Larimer.
That was quite a milestone. Shortly after steemit was launched, the steem blockchain became a Disneyland for developers.
Over the years we've seen various creative ideas and projects being launched on the steem blockchain.
Example of these projects is Dtube, Dsound, Busy, Utopian, Dlive, Steepshot, etc.
In this post, I'll be reviewing one of these projects.
I'll be sharing my views on the project and why this platform is one of the best interfaces for steem users.
What is Busy
Busy is a social platform on steem blockchain where users get rewarded with steem digital currency for posting content on steem.
Busy was launched in July 2016 by its founder’s and
.
Although steemit was the first platform on the steem blockchain, it features are quite few. So there was a need for other platforms to come in with fresh ideas to enhance usability.
I do believe that healthy competition is essential for the growth of an organization.
I found out about Busy from an article someone posted on steemit. I visited the site to give it a try, and I fell in love with the platform.
I intend to share how I got started on Busy and some features that make me love this platform. Without taking much of your time, let's delve into the main section of this post.

Interface
Design to me is very important. User interface of an app could decide if I'm keeping that app or not. But the irony of it is that I'm not even good at designing.
Even so, the UI of this platform is great. The blue, white, black and light gray color combination is nice and calm. It has that Facebook vibe. I also love the arrangement and positioning on the site.
On the home page, there is a jumbotron with a beautiful illustration and a message that reads
- Write and publish a post on steemit
- The community upvotes your post
- Earn rewards in steem
There is also an option to switch to night mode for those who love dark interfaces.
In general, the developers did a great job on the design of this platform and I applaud their effort.
Posting and commenting
Creating content is the primary thing in the steem blockchain. When it comes to creating contents, the presentation is always vital.
The readability also depends on the formatting of that content. Posting and commenting on Busy is quite easy because some styling such as heading, bold, italic, and link are done without writing any syntax.
Also, the instant preview feature while writing makes it easier for me to format my post the way I want it.
User Profile
Busy is the only steem platform of all the platforms I've used, that reminds me to complete my profile, like Facebook. It also provides space for more social profile addresses than steemit.
There are lots of users account information provided on this platform than steemit. Example are, voting power, vote value, peoples vote value on my post, interesting people to follow and recommended posts to read.
Bookmark
This is my favorite of all features on this platform. I wasn't impressed with the fact that this feature wasn't included in steemit.
Think of it, the steem blockchain is filled with great content every day not being able to save the one you like for easy access wasn't thoughtful.
I've noticed that most of the newly developed platforms have this feature which is really good to see.
To bookmark a post on Busy, click on the post, on the top right, click on the three-dot, you’ll see “save post”.
Search feature
The search feature on this platform is one of the things I actually love. When I'm searching for a user name, the search engine suggests a list of names that match with the letter I'm typing. Pretty cool, right?
This makes it easy for me to find whomever I am searching for even when I don’t know the person’s complete username.
Transfer of funds
One aspect of busy that makes me love this platform, is the accessibility to certain features.
Transferring of funds on Busy is very easy and it also reduces the chances of making mistakes, compare to steemit.
To send funds, all I do is to visit the person’s page and click on the transfer button and include the amount I want to send. This feature might seem trivial but anyone who has misspelled a user name and send funds to the wrong person would surely appreciate this.
Drafts
This feature is really helpful because sometimes I don't start and finish an article on the spot. So busy automatically saves my write up to the draft. I also can delete the draft if I don't want it saved.
Notification
This feature is one of my favorite. Before I started using Busy, I use to get notifications through gino bot on discord. Well, imagine getting your Facebook notifications through a third party app. Not so cool, right?
Busy gets you notified on every activity carried out in our account.
I get notified when people upvote my post, comment, share my post and even send funds to my account.
Summary
Busy really makes my steem experience fun with all the great features on this platform. From the Notification, drafts, bookmarks, scroll to top, more user information and a nice user interface.
When it comes to the Pros and Cons, the features is why I love this project and there isn't a thing I had issues with.
To me, Busy is one of the best steem interfaces and it's packed with great features compared to some steem interfaces.
