Wikipedia is like a free online dictionary. It is very useful for it contains almost all information you are seeking for. Personally, I love Wikipedia and I just browsed in that corner last night searching for my school assignments.
Last October 30, 2017 was the date Wikipedia updated their latest app on Google Play. It is now on version 2.6.206-r-2017-10-30, making it more powerful. It has now new App Shortcuts such as "Search", "Random", and "Continue Reading". It improved speed of loading for a larger and bigger articles and the management of reading lists. But most importantly, it fixed some issues that were reported from their users.
This suggestion of creating a "4x1 Wikipedia Widget" for home screen will really make the app more helpful and quicker to use.
This 4x1 widget is a simple application extension from the Wikipedia App that will be put in the home screen in every smartphones.
Try to look at my edited pic. It will make the app more approachable and handy.
1.) The widget should come in all sizes for every smartphones is different sizes on home screen.
2.) The widget should function the same as what it does on the original place in the app.
3.) For quick access, it should have a voice recognition of "hello/hi Wiki" to listen and automatically search what you are wanted for.
4.) When a search is done by the widget, an article should be opened in app itself and not in any kind of your mobile browsers.
This suggestion would be very beneficial. This will make the Wikipedia App faster to have a quick access by their users.
That's all friends. What do you think on this?
Thank you.
