My friend told me about this little project, so I thought it would be nice to have a go at writing something else for a change. My posts are generally about running, traveling or nice pictures, but this is something completely different. If you want to get into translating stuff like this yourself, have a look at
his posts. He has a pretty detailed explanation of how he got into it with more links with explanations.
Dutch is my native language, so I opted to go for that and it's pretty cool and challenging to try and translate something carefully and in the context of what is meant. I liked the option to ask for context of what you're about to translate, so you can really ensure that you use the correct term. @Kostronor is very quick at answering, you I didn't have any delays in finishing a large part of the translations.
Here are my stats for this afternoon:
247 Suggested translations
Commented on 2 strings
Voted on 11 suggestions
Created 3 translation issues to the strings
I really like the idea of getting random people to help out this way. It is much closer to the end users and you feel more connected to a project. I am not familiar with the game, however this has also awakened an interest, due to the personal involvement and contributions. I will definitely engage myself more for projects like this.
I will keep an eye out for projects like this one and I hope I can convince more people to join as this is a win-win situation, as felander said it ... well, except for professional translators. I also volunteer to be contacted as a translations reviewer and I hope I can contribute to make the work specialized and valuable.
I wanted to add more pictures to my post, but I seem to be having issues uploading images, so for now it will stay with the one above. Hopefully I will be able to add more pictures in my next post.
Thanks for this opportunity!!
