Introduction
Hello everyone!
Welcome to my 49th translation report for the Node.js project!
Today I decided to start a new file, finally an interesting long one: fs.md or better filesystem.md!
Keep reading to check out more about this new translation report!
Enjoy!
Project Details
Node.js is a JavaScript runtime built on Chrome's V8 JavaScript engine. It uses a non-blocking event-driven I/O model, which makes it a lightweight and efficient framework. I believe in open source projects and I think it's essential to work on this great project because the package ecosystem of Node.js, called npm, is the largest ecosystem of open source libraries in the world.
Given its importance, its translation into many languages is almost due.
I'll use my skills to make an high quality translation and maybe to learn something more about Node.js world.

Translation Overview
This is my 49th translation for the Node.js project.
Today I started fs.md translation, the translation of a long and interesting file about the file system.
I had been waiting for a file like this, this first part was rather easy to handle with and I didn't make any effort even if the final result is pretty good: 2126 total words and 1320 clean words.
In this 49th part I started introducing the file system and which is its function, after I translated several chapters about different file paths and their functions on different platforms (Windows, POSIX etc.), about file descriptors and their role in this file and about different classes especially fs.FSWatcher class, fs.ReadStream class and fs.Stats class.
Words left in English
This is a list of words I considered to left in English in order to give a more understandable translation.
My choice is based both on the project owners guidelines and on the web research carried out by myself.
Difficult words/sentences to translate in Italian
In this report I have met only a work which put me in serious difficulty because I found a good way to translate it but I'm not sure it's 100% correct and truthful in every case.
This word is " drive letter " and we can found it in different strings of fs.md.
More information about Drive Letter Assignment below.
What did I learn new?
- Binary Heap - What is the Binary Heap and how it works with the "bubble-up" operation in fs.md: it is a heap data structure that takes the form of a binary tree. Binary heaps are a common way of implementing priority queues.
Both the insert and remove operations modify the heap to conform to the shape property first, by adding or removing from the end of the heap. Then the heap property is restored by traversing up or down the heap. Both operations take O(log n) time.
To add an element to a heap we must perform an up-heap operation, also known as bubble-up operation.
Source - POSIX - What is the POSIX and what is its role in fs.md: it is a family of standards specified by the IEEE Computer Society for maintaining compatibility between operating systems. POSIX defines the application programming interface (API), along with command line shells and utility interfaces, for software compatibility with variants of Unix and other operating systems.
Source - Drive Letter Assignment - What is a Drive Letter Assignment and how it works in fs.md: it is the process of assigning alphabetical identifiers to volumes. Unlike the concept of UNIX mount points, where volumes are named and located arbitrarily in a single hierarchical namespace, drive letter assignment allows multiple highest-level namespaces. Drive letter assignment is thus a process of using letters to name the roots of the "forest" representing the file system; each volume holds an independent "tree" (or, for non-hierarchical file systems, an independent list of files).
Source - System Call - What is a System Call (or Syscall) and how it works in documentation.md: it is the programmatic way in which a computer program requests a service from the kernel of the operating system it is executed on. This may include hardware-related services (for example, accessing a hard disk drive), creation and execution of new processes, and communication with integral kernel services such as process scheduling. System calls provide an essential interface between a process and the operating system.

Feedback & Conclusion
Long and interesting file, it will be fun to work on it and complete it with different posts.
