Contribution to the new open source project - Steemdesk
Components
Steemdesk is a new open source platform displaying different activities of any Steemit blogger. All you need to do is to type in the user's name and it shows different activities of a user, like followers, number of posts, whom they have delegated SP, etc.

Proposal
I have been using the Steemdesk lately and love this platform. I want to suggest to add an extra tab on the Homepage called "Engagement".
The idea of the Engagement is to show how engaged the followers are for that particular user:
1. I suggest to limit the data to the past week - up to 7 days
- It is good to limit to a week span to show actual performance. Listing 1 day is not so good as our users might not be engaged with us everyday, but 7 day is a good indication as to how engaged our followers are.
2. Show the statistics of followers vs 'engaged' followers
- Not all followers are engaged with the users so it is good to list out the numbers of followers vs engaged followers
3. Futhermore, for "engaged" followers, it would show up in the following ways:
- their votes
- their comments
- resteeming
- our usernames show up in their blogs
4. List out the users of engaged followers
- it would be great if I type in my username there and find out who are the engaged followers who keep voting for me even though they don't comment.
- in this way, I can always go and look up these user's profile and return upvotes to them should their material also meet high standing quality.
- this will help in curation good material for Steemit platform.
Mockups / Examples
I will show the mockups in step form so that it is easier for the project owner to follow my steps as he adds this technical aspect onto the platform.
Step 1. Add "Engagement" Tab
- put an extra tab on the Home page.
Step 2: New Engagement Page
- When engagement tab is clicked, it will take you to this new page.
- here you can type in your username
- for example, I will use my username: rosatravels
- This page will show the above 3 information data of any user
- You can then click on these tabs to see who are the people or users that are engaged with this user
- Having a pie chart is good so that it can reveal the percentages in visual format
Step 3: The Statistics and Pie Chart
- I will do a mock up example of my data for the last 7 days using Pie Chart.
- The above will show you the number of total followers I have
- Among the total followers, only 437 followers are engaged with me in the last 7 days in the form of resteeming, commenting, upvoting, etc.
- The pie chart then reveal the 26.74% percentage of users engaged with me
- this means that almost 3/4 of my followers are dead followers in the last 7 days
Step 4: Show the Active Followers who support us
When people click on the tab, the following graph can show the active followers users name.
Again I will use my own username 'rosatravels' to demonstrate my engaged supporters:
- List from the top followers in terms of the SBD they upvote for us
- Make these as clickable links so we can go into their profile and read up their blogs
- So in one flash, you can actually see the top engaged supporters of your followers
Benefits
Steemdesk is to provide useful information of any user.
This is valuable for ourselves as users to find out our own status on Steemit with our followers:
- can separate for us the percentage of good followers we have
- can delete all the dead followers as time goes on
- can highlight those engaged followers who are upvoting us and commenting our posts
- can return favors to them and get engaged with their postings
- like minded people will attract similar people
- we want to attract followers who are really following us and we do the same to them
Conclusion
I truly believe having this technical aspect into the platform will enhance the platform to a great extent. Users want to come in here to get information more quickly and effectively. By showing these pie chart of engagements of followers vs active followers, active users on Steemit can help one another out to curate more quality material. This is the easiest way I can think of in highlighting those who are engaged with us.
