EVOLUTUION OF PROGRAMMING
Over time, as the term computer became more elaborate and evolved, so also have its components which makes up the computer evolved including its hardware and software components.
Software is a set of instruction given to a computer to make it perform given tasks better and even much more faster. Without the software part, a system is as good as useless, it is the invisible or non physical part of the computer(that is, it cannot be touched or carried about, unlike a computer RAM, ROM, MOTHERBOARD, KEYBOARD e.tc) and these softwares are created using various languages and we have known and registered those languages in a coded word known as "Programming Languages"
This drives me to my next point, What is a programming Language? "A programming language is a set of grammatical rules for instructing a computer or computing device to perform specific tasks"
Over time, programming languages have gone through some stages of development and have been subjected under proper scrutiny by top notch computer enthusiasts and scientists, and programming languages have come up even better and stronger.
Programming language is a new phenomenon in the sense that it came to be in the 20th century, but has gone through a tremendous change ever since its inception.
BRIEF HISTORY OF PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES
Prior to concrete programming languages, computers have been communicated to using 0s and 1s.
The first programming language designed to communicate instructions to a computer were written in the 1950s. It was a high-level programming language designed for a computer. It was developed by the Germans, although, it was not implemented until late 1990s and early 21st century. The programming language is called Plankalkül: its a german programming language, designed for engineers and engineering and it was a high level language. It included statements, arrays, loops.
After years of evolution in programming languages, the FORTRAN language was invented by IBM around mid 1954, and it is also a high-level programming language.
The next language to be invented was the FLOW-MATIC language, and it was developed between 1955-1959, then from FLOW_MATIC came COBOL, as the design of FLOW_MATIC had a great influence on COBOL.
Within 1960 to 1980 came the most memorable change in modern day programming, and withing these years we had other languages, that will change our perspective of programming forever.
in 1968 we had the LOGO language, the B language, and in 1970 came PASCAL and FORTH, in 1972, came C language arguably the mother of modern day programming languages, and we had even more languages including SQL.
Ever since then, evolution of programming languages had no boundaries. Then came C++, Objective C, Perl, Python, R, Ruby, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Go, Kotlin, Swift and numerous languages, I cant even mention.
Currently, Programming Languages have become more efficient and understandable to people who are not computer inclined, because of the simplicity in its syntax and language.
