He would've been 16 now, dividing his time between school, soccer and sweethearts. But he didn't even live to see his second birthday, killed by a vaccine so dangerous it was banned by Italian authorities in 2006.
I was killed by a vaccine you will never learn about. Betrayed and forgotten.
Last week, on what would have been Emiliano Rapposelli's 16 birthday, the Italian anti-vaccine organization Corvelva has brought back this tragic story to be used in a shock campaign under the hashtag #ionondimetico - #idontforget. The campaign aims to shock parents into researching the dangers posed by vaccines, a very sensitive topic in Italy where -under the new law, unvaccinated children are no longer allowed into schools and daycare centers.
Born on November 6 2001, Emiliano Rapposelli was a healthy normal child. Both his parents worked as nurses and had nothing against vaccines.
On February 14 2003, the child was scheduled for his MMR shot. On that day, the child had a fever and was coughing a little, but the doctor said it was OK to have him vaccinated. (Why do I seem to remember kids must be in perfect health before getting a shot?)
However, the child was vaccinated and the doctor warned the parents to expect a little fever in about a week's time. It was nine days later when the parents put little Emiliano to bed for his afternoon nap, from which he never woke up. (At this point, it is worth mentioning that the Italian organization notes on its website that they have heard the story of that fateful day - in detail – but chose not to publish the parents' harrowing account).
Now you can no longer force me (to take another shot). Thank you MMR!
Not the vaccine!
The first autopsy could not establish a cause of death and the parents were as clueless as anybody else. This changed on the day the child's mother received a call from the local health department, to assure her Emiliano's death had nothing to do with the MMR shot. It was at this point that the parents' suspicions were aroused. Corvelva took up the case and fought along with the parents to establish the truth.
A second autopsy concluded with a diagnosis of meningitis, but the medical experts called in by Corvelva quickly demolished the case for meningitis and – a crucial point in the case – called for the dead child's tissue samples be frozen instead of preserved in formaldehyde, which would have ruined them.
After a lengthy legal battle and a lot of scientific tests it was established that what had killed the child was, indeed, the MMR shot. The tests confirmed the presence of the Schwarz virus - which causes measles - in the boy's brain tissue. DNA analysis confirmed it was the exact Schwarz virus used in the MMR shot administered to Emiliano Rapposelli.
The family got their day in court, they received financial compensation for vaccine injury, but they didn't get their child back.
Just another medical scandal
In 2006, that type of MMR shot called Morupar in Italy was pulled of the market following the large number of severe side-effects (although Italian authorities insisted they were still in the normal range.)
Reading through the official documents on this killer vaccine is a good lesson as to how cynical the medical establishment can be and its total disregard for human suffering. According to said documents, most often the vaccinated children had an allergic reaction. Even so, Italian authorities insisted minor allergic reactions were no cause to not go in for the recommended booster shots. Parents were cautioned to only vaccinate the children in the doctor's office so as to make sure help was at hand should anything go wrong. Like anaphylactic shock, for instance. Should the child have an allergic reaction it would appear in a few minutes, no later then one hour after the shot, they said.
As any parent who has ever been inside a stuffy waiting room full of sniffling crying children knows, the minute you're done you get out of there. If your child goes into anaphylactic shock after an hour, when you're already home – well, good luck waiting for the ambulance.
Although health authorities only mention allergic reactions, the same vaccine was determined to have caused transverse myelitis in another Italian child, who got its MMR shot in December 2000. The child received financial compensation after it was established it won't be able to walk again because of that shot.
Morupar vaccine was produced by the American Chiron Corporation. In 2006, when the Morupar scandal broke out in Italy, Chiron was acquired by Novartis. In 2014, Novartis agreed to sell its vaccines division to the well-known GlaxoSmithKline.
As the official documents prove, Italian authorities were aware something was wrong with the Morupar vaccine long before they decided to pull it off the market. They waited for years before taking action and during that time other kids were put at risk. How many more vaccine scandals are authorities covering up?
It doesn't end here
Just one more thing – Fourteen years after the death of their son, Emiliano's parents are still fighting to have the state authority monitoring vaccines and side-effects, called Canale Verde, put the case into records. Emiliano Rapposelli isn't even in the official statistics, he isn't even a number. The reason might blow your mind. According to law, if the death wasn't initially reported as related to the vaccine, it won't ever be in the statistics. It doesn't matter what was established in court, it doesn't matter the Italian state agreed to compensate the family. If it wasn't reported as vaccine related from the very beginning, it doesn't count.
No wonder statistics on vaccine side-effect are low.
Emiliano's parents are determined to fight on. #nonfiniscequi/ #itdoesntendhere
Not surprisingly, among those who do remember Emiliano are the parents of a little boy called Nicola. So cute and so gravely ill!
You can find his story here. A life of suffering caused by a hexavalent vaccine, following which Nicola developed encephalopathy. As this was not enough, the doctors convinced the parents to give the child yet another vaccine, in view of his poor health. Nicola is still fighting, #itdoesntendhere
What if it was your child the next one to be damaged by vaccine?
