A 22-month old boy from Miami (Florida) died at the beginning of the month from pneumococcal meningitis, although he was up to date with his vaccines. Another child from the same day-care center died a week later from a respiratory illness, also believed to be meningitis. According to 'The Miami Herald', children going to the YWCA Carol Glassman Donaldson Childcare Center are required to be vaccinated against pneumococcal disease.
Connor, with parents Donald and Doreen Mincey
Connor Mincey fell ill on November 21 and was taken several times to the pediatrician and to the Emergency Room, but each time doctors said the child had a simple cold and prescribed Tylenol, Motrin and a nebulizer machine to help him breathe. It was only on November 29, when the boy's condition was already desperate that he was admitted to the Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami, where he was finally put on antibiotics. However, it was too late to save the child, who died on December 3.
Connor's parents spoke to the press last week, detailing the string of events that led to the child's death, focusing on the fact that several doctors failed to spot the symptoms of meningitis.
Propaganda double-standards
The tragic death was reported by various local stations and newspapers, but only few mention the fact that both dead children had had their pneumococcal vaccinations. It's true, vaccine manufacturers make clear their product does not cover all bacterial strains, so there is no 100% protection.
This sad case is however another sad example of the way vaccines propaganda works. If the victim had been vaccinated, like little Connor, no doubts about the vaccine's efficiency are ever raised. Yet, whenever an unvaccinated child dies of meningitis the news is automatically followed by urgent calls and severe warnings to have your children vaccinated.
A clear example of the shameful exploitation of a tragic death of a child is the petition asking that meningitis vaccines be given to all the children in the UK. In 2016, it became the most signed petition in UK history, with 640.000people demanding the vaccine. What prompted this huge emotional response was a picture of two-year old Faye Burdett, who died from meningitis.
Dead Faye Burdett became a poster girl for vaccine propaganda
With Connor Mincey's death from the same disease, the fact that he did have all his scheduled shots is barely even mentioned.
The family's lawyers did mention the fact in the December 14 press conference, but it seems they are going to sue for malpractice, rather than pursue the issue of the child's being fully vaccinated, which would get them nowhere.
On the other hand, there is a possibility that the doctors who saw the child when he first fell ill might have ruled out a suspicion of meningitis precisely because the boy was vaccinated and the chances of him getting the disease were low.
