This last weekend i got busy doing some checks on the oils in Roman with recently purchessing this motorhome with no real service history.
First up checking the oil in the diff i removed the filler bolt and stuck my finger in to check the level and colour of the oil. The oil level was spot on though the colour was terrible it was basicly black. Should look like honey in colour. Well better drain that old used up oil out it could be 20+ years old for all i know yikes.
The diff with fill bolt removed to check the oil.
Undoing the drain bolt.
The horrid old oil draining out.
This is the drain bolt it has a magnet built in to attract any metal that gets warn off the diff and bearings etc to stop it from floating around in the oil and doing more damage. You can see some metal bits stuck ontop.
Bolt all cleaned up.
All topped up with new oil and that's job done.
After the diff oil change i did the same for the gearbox oil then changed the engine oil and oil filter. Also adjusted the freeplay on the steering box and topped that up the oil. Now i now what oils are in and when they were changed.
Thanks for following along and hope you all have a great day.
