Watching Paint Dry

One of my favorite Steemians is Hive account@everittdmickey. I’ve noticed his absence lately. I went looking for him and noticed he has not posted with his normal frequency. One of his last posts was a few days back when Steemit was experiencing network trouble. He was tired and decided more excitement could be found watching paint dry on his boat.

We all become weary from time to time. Tedium of any variety gets old. I refer to this weariness in Steemit as the GRIND. Composing posts on a regular basis is tough work.

I’ve noticed that most long term contributors diversify the content of their posts to add variety. Different subjects, different styles, and diverse tools of production can all help keep us fresh.

Recently Hive account@exyle has been keeping us informed about his attempts to rid his home of mice. I’m confident he is using the subject shift to vary his content. Watching him speak of the latest progress within the Steem blockchain would become boring: like watching paint dry...

The point is if you are to survive in this community, you should learn new methods of content creation. Producing similar content will soon have the excitement equivalent of... watching women’s tennis.
