I feel like there is a terrible resemblance between what is happening to cows in dairy farms and what happens to women in Margaret Atwood's dystopia "The Handmaid's Tale"... Although it's usually related to feminism, I feel like making the parallel would be very (if not more) pertinent. Your short story at the beginning made me think of it.
