When the world turned Vegan
Open your mind
Every single person in this world has woken up to the plight of animals and can no longer accept the need to kill for food, as technology coupled with the evolution of food science, has enabled the human race to access a vegan diet with relative ease. Supermarkets would have replaced their meat sections with advice centres that provides vegan professionals to assist with this monumental overnight transition to a new way of living.
Turning the corner
Humanity's relationship with the animal kingdom would have clearly changed and a heightened level of awareness, along with sensitivity shown towards one another, would enable humans and animals to start a new relationship together, working hand-in-hand to power this world round, so to speak. Now, just to remind you that we are in a hypothetical scenario, and we are still using your imagination, so stick with me. If you think how much energy an animal produces, albeit through movement, body heat, even methane, without sounding crass, it's quite considerable.
Now, throw in a bit of technology like these Solar Skin Suits and apply them to animals, who are exposed to the sun, then you could have them outside for a few hours a day absorbing all that solar energy from the sun's rays. The solar suits could be taken off after charging, then the energy could be pumped into the home directly, or even the national grid with some good earning potential. In the Netherlands, Dog owners need to pay a tax to own their animal, so with this in mind, the animal energy concept with monetisation, could assist economically. Farmers who own huge amounts of animal stock would become energy farmers instead of meat producers. So, imagine walking your dog and sticking a solar jacket on it's little body and then returning home with all the energy needed to cook the evening's family meal, you see where I'm going with all this. In the link below is an encouraging article about the development of such technology, which I'm sure could be adjusted for animals.
The meat industry would have finished and humanity would witness the genesis of the animal energy industry which'd be guided and regulated under a vegan era, with love and compassion. Who knows, even the insect kingdom could play a role, but their solar jackets would have to made by someone with very nimble fingers, they'd be awfully small don't you think?
