On super bowl Sunday, my fiance and I went to a friend’s house. Some of the kids were playing a game and one little boy said that he knew how he could take out his opponents! His brilliant idea was to drink milk to make himself “stronger.” He took two sips and (in his mind) he instantly became the mightiest man in the whole wide world.
The next day, during a meeting at work, one of my coworkers said, “I’m super jealous of your coffee.” The other said, “It’s actually chocolate milk! They say it’s the best thing to drink after a workout. It has the perfect combination of protein and sugars.” I was instantly saddened by this.
From a young age we are bombarded with propaganda teaching us that milk (from a mama cow that she produced for her calf and NOT for humans) is healthy. We don’t question this because of all the media and public praise that the dairy industry pays to infiltrate. Think back to the got milk campaign. “Dairy is good and makes for stronger bones.” This is a lie. In fact, countries that consume more dairy have more cases of osteoporosis (deteriorating/ weak bones). People who consume animal products have higher rates of heart disease (#1 killer in America), diabetes, cancer and other PREVENTABLE diseases than those who lead a plant-based lifestyle.
You don’t have to be unhealthy if you don’t want to. Professionals in the medical industry won’t tell you that. They’ll continue promoting the very diet that will KILL you. There’s a lot of money invested in the meat and dairy industry. It’s sad, but the “healthcare” industry does not care about whether you live or die. Healthy people don’t keep them in business, sick people do.
