Hello Steemit friends, this was vehicular accident that I had witness yesterday as I went to the area of my job. There was no dead and just only a mild injury and damage to the property. The motorcycle driver was brought to the hospital for he was wounded. This accident happen due to reckless driving. The other driver got drunk and run without speed limit even in a curve.
I found the site of Rappler reported about vehicular accident to inform those who do not know yet.
This is the report of the World Health Organization Road Safety:
1.25 million people have died globally due to road accidents,
The Southeast Asia and Western Pacific regions record the highest proportion in this area, with a third of all road traffic deaths involving motorycle riders. Many countries now have laws against drunk-driving and mandating the use of helmets and seat belts, but these laws are not always comprehensive or properly enforced
Road Safety Measures Assessment in the Philippines
Philippines has laws regulating speed limit, mandating the use of motorycle helmets and seatbelts, and prohibiting drunk driving, these laws have not been sufficiently implemented.
The Philippines got a 5 out of 10 rating in the implementation of the speed limit law and seatbelt law, according to the report.
It got a 6 out of 10 rating in the implementation of the motorcycle helmet law, but the law does not require the helmet to be fastened correctly.
In the enforcement of the drunk driving law, the Philippines got a dismal 1 out of 10 rating. Republic Act 10586, or the Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act of 2013, seeks to penalize drivers whose blood alcohol content exceeds the allowable legal limit.
Drivers found guilty of violating the law face fines, imprisonment, and a revocation of their licenses.

You can also take a picture of the area, such as road signs and the name of the street, if you are unfamiliar of the incident’s location. Make sure that you make it prompt so you are not offending any the other party. It may be to your advantage to take pictures and document the whole incident.File an accident report
Often minor incidents end up with a simple negotiation.Find out if your insurance policy covers the accident
As soon as possible, call your vehicle insurance company and check if your insurance covers such accidents.
Prevention of road accidents
With proper knowledge, training, and calm behavior on the road, accidents can be avoided.
Strict implementation of laws and programs is one step in addressing the growing problem in road safety in the country. To address this, the DOTr is proposing several projects, such as the installation of speed limit devices in public vehicles, dashcams, and CCTVs for the protection not only of the drivers and passengers but the pedestrians as well.
Furthermore, apart from the laws and programs, being a disciplined driver will reduce the chance of accidents and will make the road safer for everyone.
